Diamond rating

Diamonds are more than just a pretty little stone to watch and wear. They are complicated, beyond what they can see the natural eye and their structure is composed of pure carbon that has been crystallized in the isometric system. There is no other material that is known as hard as a diamond, and therefore differs from all other precious stones.
“Like a diamond costs more or less than the other?” is a common question that I asked. Well, there are ways to tell that I am going to explain.

The four c

This system of four c was conveyed to the value of a position and place on a diamond and are color, cut, clarity, and carat. Here I wil focus on color.

Color

GIA (Gemological Institute of America) established standard color, until they did, there were a lot of terms applied that attempted to describe the degree of purity of the colors within a diamond. j shawn . Can white as diamonds are the whitest that consist of pure 100% carbon and describes the letter “D” (don’t use “A, B or C” as these are reserved incase there is a discovery of a stone even whiter than what has been found so far), as are yellow and more yellow describes using the “Z”. Diamonds are compared to an internationally recognised standards of master stones that determine whereabouts on that stone in question belongs.

However, there are two systems in use today and is accepted. GIA has developed a scale in alphabetical order starting with “D” for colourless progression through “Z”. AGS (The American Society for Gemological) has a numbering system which is a similar way as GIA except use “0″ as the whitest/colorless and “10″, as the stones more yellow.

As you probably know, the whitest/colorless stones to be the most expensive, due to the fact that they dazzle more to those who have the yellow in them. They dazzle more because they allow more light in and reflect back without impeding in any way. Yellow stones trap of small amounts of light and do not reflect all the light that goes back out again.

Very white stones are rarer than yellow variety and therefore cost more too. These are the two main factors why diamonds vary in price.

Although there are diamonds that are naturally colored by impurities or defects within their structure when they were formed and so they then emitted beautiful colors such as blue, pink, black, Orange, violet, pale green and red color that is the rarest of all, so this escalation of their price exceeds even the stones clearer. Yellow is the colour most commonly found in a diamond, and so the less value, is caused by nitrogen. Inside the caliber of a diamond blue, his is the presence of boron which causes its colour and the colour green found in a small amount of diamonds is caused by exposure to radiation.

Some of these fancy colored diamonds are so rare most skilled Jewelers saw never even one, only a place in the world, Australia, has produced Argyle Pink diamonds and even there only 1% of what they mine is classified as pink.

There are also the diamonds that have a certain amount of fluorescence, this usually is marked on a diamond certificate when you purchase a diamond certificate, which means they have the ability to glow under ultraviolet light.

The colored stone know bigger is calling the Darya-l-Nur which is estimated to be 182carats but the exact weight is unknown, because it was mounted in a setting of PIN for the past 130 years, is a pale pink colour.
