Splendor of diamonds of the Smithsonian was a display of seven of the world’s rarest diamonds. Diamonds varied in size from 5.11 carats Carat to 203.04. It was cut by Steinmetz, which was sold to the company De Beers. The blue color is due to boron impurity in carbon structure of diamond. Very few blue diamonds are such vivid colors, often boron are only some sections of the stone or the color is very desaturated and mixed with shades of gray.
